Simon Brooke. A man who fell in love with a beautiful woman. He gets called off to fight for his country and leaves his wife. They write to each other constantly until, quite suddenly she stops receiving letters. A week later two soldiers knock on her door, tell her Simon is MIA and most likely dead. She doesn't believe them and for years, no matter what her friends and family say, she hopes and prays Simon will come home safe. Four years later, when she is on the edge of giving up hope, there is another soldier knocking on her door. Guess who it is......
The same things I think about, I think about them all the time,
and the same things that I think about,
Sometimes I think about you Simon, my dear, Simon Brooke.
Oh, the same love I tough it out, I’ll tough it out ‘til you get back,
Still it feels so strange sleeping all alone,
With only your pillow to remind me.
My dear, Simon Brooke. My dear, Simon Brooke.
You’re my better side,
They said you’d gone, I think they lied,
They must have lied.
Well Simon, if you look out far from there, you might feel
somebody watching you, I think I talk a lot to God these days
So you can find your way, you’ll find your way,
My dear, Simon Brooke. My dear, Simon Brooke.
I heard something from somewhere saying you died in the war,
four years ago, but I didn’t believe when they told me so,
I know Simon, I know.
My dear, Simon Brooke. My dear, Simon Brooke.
Oh, the same things I think about, yeah I think about
them all the time, and the same things that I think about,
sometimes I think about you Simon.
My dear, Simon Brooke. My dear, Simon Brooke.
